A Must Have Samsung Full HD Display With An Integrated TV Tuner

The 27-inch HD LCD display comes equipped with an integrated TV tuner, an HDMI input, a 5ms response time, a 50,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio, and two 3-watt stereo speakers, which is able to simulate 5.1-channel audio. Other features include Picture In Picture and Picture By Picture modes. The 27-inch Samsung SyncMaster P2770HD is priced at approx. $473 in South Korea.

Samsung 2010 Magic Station Desktop PC Released

The series consists of premium model ‘DM-Z200′, high-performance tower model ‘DM-V200′, two slim models ‘DM-R200′ and ‘DN-Z200′. The 2010 Magic Station features high-gross black finish with Samsung’s Touch of Color design, a 500GB hard disk drive and an HDMI port. Pricing info is still unavailable at this time.

Samsung Bets Big on GSM, CDMA Handsets

Samsung Electronics is eyeing the top slot in the Indian mobile phone market over the next two years. The Korean chaebol plans to grow  its market share in the GSM and CDMA handset segments by more than 5% annually to ensure its goal of achieving the highest shipment of handsets in the country.
The company is betting on open market handsets in the CDMA space and touchscreen and multimedia phones in GSM to drive growth. “Our plan is to consolidate market share in both GSM and CDMA handset segments in India till 2010, following which we will strongly vie to become the largest handset vendor,” Samsung India Electronics country head (telecom division) Sunil Dutt told ET.

Samsung India has a near 23% share in the CDMA phone space and some 14-16% in the GSM segment. It is the second-largest player in both segments in terms of market share, with Nokia leading in the GSM space and LG in CDMA. (more…)

Samsung launches world’s first OMH handset

Leading CDMA player Samsung today announced the launch of the world’s first OMH (Open Market Handset) phone “Mpower 699″ in the Indian market in cooperation with Qualcomm that develops digital wireless communications products and services.

The OMH technology gives cellphone customers the flexibility to buy SIM cards for CDMA handsets from operators of their choice. (more…)

Samsung, LG Rivalry to Heat Trade Fair

Samsung Electronics is expecting to reveal a series of “green” products in the IFA trade show in Berlin, including a washing machine, left, that needs just half the power of conventional models for heating water. Its rival, LG Electronics, is trying to steal the show by revealing a 15-inch active-matrix organic LED (AMOLED) display television.

The Samsung Electronics-LG Electronics rivalry is one of the oldest and fiercest rivalries in South Korea’s business sector. The latest battlefield between the two electronics giants will be Berlin, where they will compete to look better under the limelight in Europe’s largest consumer electronics exhibition.

The Internationale Funkausstellung (IFA), scheduled for Sept. 4-9 at the German capital, rivals the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) of Las Vegas as the industry’s biggest annual trade fair. Samsung and LG lead a pack of 40 Korean companies who have booked their booths for the Berlin conference. (more…)

Samsung Blue Earth Solar Phone Coming this October

Samsung has just announced at an event in San Francisco that its touchscreen Blue Earth with solar power (and one of the best paint schemes we’ve ever seen, may we add) will be launching this October, though we don’t yet know what regions will see it. If we had to guess, it won’t be in the US — but maybe the panels aren’t compatible with 120-volt, 60Hz sunlight.

Samsung to unveil sub $100 Android phones in 2010

Now thats really cheap! According to NYTimes Samsung plans to launch ‘multiple’ ‘touchscreen’ Android phones costing less than $100 by next year.

While we already see tones of Chinese iPhone clones selling for $50-$75, it will be interesting to see what Samsung has to offer with an Android at that price. All we know is these phones will allow full internet browsing. This announcement comes along with the launch of eco-friendly Samsung Reclaim which is a $50 phone made of ‘corn’. Samsung Highlight debuts for T-Mobile



T-Mobile’s Samsung Highlight is the newest model in Samsung’s touch-screen phone line that began last year with the Behold.

Also called the SGH-T749, the Highlight is positioned as an entry-level touch-screen device. On the outside it sports an agreeable design in either fire (red and orange) and ice (almost a turquoise).

You’ll also find a stylized pattern on its rear face and well-designed physical controls. The three-inch display is on the small side, but it compensates for size with a brilliant 16 million-color resolution. (more…)
