The Garmin Nuvi 1490TV has a 5-inch display screen, built-in stereo speakers and a 3.5mm headphone output, a long life Lithium-ion battery, Composite video input for external reversing camera (not supplied), a built-in aerial for high DVB-T signal strength areas and two magnetic dipole aerials for low signal areas. The device also provides maps of 22 European countries, over 2 million points of interests, preloaded speed limits, and a special interests POI database with more than 10,000 items including shopping, nightlife and living well, fashion, wine merchants and organic supermarkets.

Motorola Introduces Two New GPS Navigation Systems At CES 2010

motorola-tn700The Motorola TN700 and TN500 are two new GPS navigation gadgets that have been introduced at CES 2010.

The Motorola TN500 features a 4.3-inch widescreen display, lane guidance, junction views, spoken street names and more.

Meanwhile, the TN700 comes jam packed a bigger 5.1-inch widescreen display with all of the features of the TN500 but some additional functionality such as 3D landmarks and a real-time traffic information provided through an optional dash cradle. Both devices will be launched in the first quarter of 2010. No info on pricing so far.

Another Entry-Level GPS From TomTom

tomtom-ease-1The world’s leading provider of navigation solutions and digital maps, TomTom has recently unveiled another one of its upcoming entry-level GPS navigation device for the US market called the TomTom Ease. This compact device sports a 3.5-inch 320 x 240 touchscreen display, a 2GB of storage, TomTom’s Map Share technology, IQ Routes intelligent guidance system, text-to-speech and full maps of the US pre-installed. Pricing and release date are still unknown at the moment.

Onkyo’s 7-inch Tablet PC With An Integrated GPS Module

The 7-inch tablet netbook comes jam packed with a built-in GPS module, a 1,024 x 600 resolution touchscreen display, a 1.33GHz Intel Atom Z520 processor, an 80GB HDD, a 1GB RAM, an Intel US15W chipset, two USB ports, an ExpressCard/34 slot, SD/SDHC/MMC/Memory Stick Pro slots, Bluetooth 2.0+EDR, 802.11n Wi-Fi and a couple of webcams (3MP and 0.3MP). The tablet netbook uses Microsoft Windows 7 starter as the operating system. Additionally, the Onkyo NX707A4 comes with up to 3 hours of battery life. Weighing 720grams and measuring 193mm x 132mm x 22mm, the Onkyo NX707A4 will be released in Japan during Christmas holiday for $680 a pop.

Finedrive Style 3D With Turbo GPS

Finedrive-Style-3DFineDigital today released the Finedrive Style 3D, which is a new navigation device that comes equipped with the company’s “Atlan 3D” map software. Using the “Turbo GPS” technology, the Finedrive Style 3D can find your location quickly and guide your destination around an overpass where the GPS signal is low. The gadget also provides oil price information service, DMB, real-time news service, and more. Each purchase comes with free coupons to update 3D map software and TPEG service. The 8GB Finedrive Style 3D is currently available in South Korea for 399,000 Won ($345).

The 4GB and 8GB models retail for $285 and $310, respectively.
